This weekend marks the second/third stage for the age group quarterfinals.  I say the second/third stage because I look at stage two as the teams and stage three as the age group, of which both are competing this weekend.  With the release of the floorplans, I am very excited to see these workouts.  I find it amusing how they left out the jump ropes for the teams, masters athletes, and teen athletes after all the rumblings around the crossovers.  Now, I will not sit here and make assumptions around the workouts, as I have never been good with that, nor do I rarely play that game.  However, based on the individual workouts, even though there seems to be a lot of barbells for the teams and age groups, I can assume that the barbell will now be a true difference maker.  It appears over the years that there will be one workout that is reliant on the heavier barbell, but if you are able to perform the gymnastics components well you can have a good chance of moving on - as long as you do not bomb the heavier barbell focused workout.  Boz does like to mix up the gymnastics a good amount and put some new stuff in, so I am interested if he implements anything new for the teams or age groups or keeps what has been seen the same.

With all that being said, here are a few ways to mentally prepare for this upcoming CrossFit Team and Age Group quarterfinal:

  1. Set clear goals: Start by setting specific goals for the competition. Determine what you want to achieve and set realistic goals for yourself.

  2. Visualize success: Visualization can help you prepare mentally for the competition. Imagine yourself performing well and achieving your goals.

  3. Focus on your strengths: Identify your strengths and build on them. Focus on what you do well and find ways to incorporate those strengths into your competition strategy.

  4. Prepare for unexpected challenges: Anticipate potential challenges and develop strategies to overcome them. This will help you stay focused and resilient during the competition.

Good luck to everyone competing this weekend in the CrossFit Team and AGQ Quarterfinal.
